VejpTjek (and its Swedish sister media, Vejpkollen) was founded with the aim of disseminating news about e-cigarettes and other smokeless nicotine products. The focus is on information that is relevant and useful for both consumers and traders in the market. The topics range from health, research, political debates and trends to everything that matters to this target group.
Vejpkollen in Sweden came about because I, as a user and freelance journalist, thought that there was a lack of a forum that could shed light on the challenges and realities that the vast majority of nicotine users face. It concerns regulations, health issues, product safety, accessibility and the significant knowledge gaps that affect thousands of people every day. The aim was to promote the debate on harm reduction for smokers and to ensure that users also get a natural voice in the conversation.
VejpTjek.dk shares the same ambitions. Today, between 2 and 4 percent of the Danish population vape, and a further 2 percent use nicotine patches or Swedish snus. That's a lot of people. The medium is primarily aimed at users, business people, debaters and politicians who want to know more about smoke-free nicotine use and how it works in practice.
